Picture Organic Clothing - page d'accueil, bannière de fin de saison, navigation par univers et sélecteur de pays

Overview

Context

Picture Organic Clothing was leaving Salesforce Commerce Cloud for Shopify Plus. As an apprentice at Ultro, an e-commerce agency, I was the only developer on the rebuild: rewrite the entire store in Liquid and bring over several hundred products and collections in three languages, without losing a single record, in under three months.

Challenges

  1. 01

    A theme rebuilt from scratch

The old site was a React app on PWA-kit: nothing could be reused. Every screen was rewritten in Liquid, from the home page to filtered collections, from multi-variant product pages to the cart and the customer account. It is all split into configurable sections and blocks so the Picture team can recompose pages without a developer.

  2. 02

    Two sources, one Shopify model

The catalogue lived in Salesforce, the editorial content in Contentful. TypeScript scripts read one through OCAPI and SCAPI, the other through the GraphQL API, and write into Shopify. Fields with no native equivalent were remodelled one by one as metafields rather than flattened into descriptions.

  3. 03

    Three languages to keep intact

Existing translations moved across with the rest of the catalogue, and the missing ones were regenerated by script then pushed back through the API, language by language. The store went live multilingual and multi-currency from day one.

Outcome

A multilingual, multi-currency Shopify Plus store in production, with the entire catalogue and editorial content carried over field by field. The brand's teams now build their own pages from the theme's sections.
